RECYCLED POLYESTER

We love clothes and fabrics that do good. Recycled polyester is making waves in the sustainable fashion movement. Using recycled polyester rather than traditional polyester reduces landfill, which means less soil contamination, air and water pollution.

Nine plastic water bottles can be saved from their landfill destination and used to make one t-shirt. Turning pre-existing plastics such as that water bottle you used at a festival a lifetime ago into your new Weird Fish favourite is the future, and we are happy to be a part of it!

Clothing made from recycled polyester can be recycled again and again, without the quality being compromised, helping to reduce further landfill down the line. Recycled polyester also uses between 33% and 53% less energy than traditional polyester.

SUPER STRONG

SUPER STRONG

Recycled polyester is super strong and easy to care for. Made from recycled PET bottles, plastic bottles, it is no surprise this material will last a long time and you will be able to enjoy it in years to come.

NINE BOTTLES

NINE BOTTLES

Nine plastic bottles are all it takes to create a brand new t-shirt. Saving bottles from landfill, reducing soil contamination, water and air pollution. All of our recycled polyester garments are made from 100% post-consumer plastic bottles.

LESS WATER

LESS WATER

Recycled polyester uses at least 33% less water than traditional polyester in products that are dyed or have our exclusive, fun prints. Our water consumption for undyed and non-printed products is 61% less than conventional polyester.

OUR WORK WITH GREEN STORY

Green Story are a fantastic organisation that are helping you find out more about the environmental impact of the clothes you’re purchasing. Our aim is for 90% of our products to be from sustainably sourced materials by 2026, and Green Story is helping us measure our progress! Green Story looked at our use of recycled polyester in comparison to conventional polyester and found:

• Our blue water consumption was at least 33% less when comparing the use of recycled polyester to conventional polyester in dyed and printed apparel, and 61% lesser in comparison in the undyed and non-print clothing.

• Greenhouse gas emissions were 11% less in recycled polyester products than conventional polyester in the case of dyed and printed clothing.
