Shoal Rewards Terms & Conditions
1. About Shoal Rewards
Version/date effective: 04/11/2026 version 1.0
1.1 Shoal Rewards is the Weird Fish loyalty programme operated by Weird Fish Limited, company number 01543385, whose registered office is Unit 15 Miller Court, Severn Drive, Tewkesbury Business Park, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, GL20 8DN (“Weird Fish”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain how you can join Shoal Rewards, earn and use points and access rewards, challenges, referrals, promotions and member competitions.
1.3 By joining Shoal Rewards, you agree to these Terms. They are separate from the terms applying to purchases from Weird Fish. Purchases remain subject to our website or store terms of sale, returns policy and your statutory consumer rights.
1.4 Shoal Rewards is free to join. Membership does not require you to agree to receive marketing.
2. Who can join
2.1 You must:
- be aged 18 or over;
- be resident in the United Kingdom;
- have a valid personal email address;
- create or hold a Weird Fish customer account; and
- accept these Terms when you join.
2.2 Membership is for individuals acting for personal and non-business purposes. It is not available to companies, organisations, resellers or anyone buying mainly for commercial resale.
2.3 You may hold only one Shoal Rewards membership. We may merge or close duplicate accounts after contacting you where reasonably practicable.
2.4 Membership and accounts are personal. You must not sell, transfer, share or allow another person to use your account, membership identifier, referral link, points or rewards, except where a particular Shoal Rewards feature expressly permits sharing.
3. Joining and managing your account
3.1 You may join through weirdfish.co.uk, the Weird Fish: Shoal Rewards app or a participating Weird Fish store.
3.2 In store you can identify yourself with your email address, QR code or digital-wallet barcode.
3.3 You must provide accurate and current information and update it if it changes.
3.4 You are responsible for keeping your password, membership identifier and account access secure. Please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed or used without permission.
3.5 You can view available points, pending points, rewards and relevant transactions through the Shoal Rewards Hub, subject to availability of the relevant service.
3.6 Customer accounts will be retained for a period of 3 years after last interaction and will then be removed. Interaction is defined as a purchase which earns rewards points or a reward redemption.
4. Where Shoal Rewards applies
4.1 Shoal Rewards applies to eligible purchases:
- online at weirdfish.co.uk; and
- at participating Weird Fish stores.
4.2 We may change the participating website, app features or participating stores. We will provide reasonable notice where a change is likely to materially disadvantage members.
4.3 To receive points or use rewards online, you must be signed into the Weird Fish account connected to your Shoal Rewards membership.
4.4 In store, you must identify your membership before the transaction is completed using a supported identifier requested by the store colleague. Weird Fish will not be able to add points automatically if membership is not identified at the time of purchase.
5. Earning points on purchases
5.1 Members earn 100 Shoal Rewards points for every £1 spent on eligible purchases.
5.2. Members will need a minimum of 10,000 points to be able to redeem their points, which is a minimum spend of £100, however you are able to earn ponts through other means.
5.3 Points are calculated on the amount paid for eligible products after promotional discounts and Shoal Reward rewards (including Shoal Rewards vouchers and points conversions at checkout) have been applied.
5.4 Delivery charges do not earn points.
5.5 Fractions of £1 and point calculations will be handled in accordance with the method displayed at checkout or in your account. It is simply 1 point per whole penny spent.
5.6 Exclusions apply. Selected products, services, fees, gift cards, vouchers or other purchase types may be excluded where clearly stated before purchase.
5.7 Points will normally be credited to the account connected to the qualifying transaction. Points cannot normally be added to another person’s account.
5.8 Transactions paid for with a Weird Fish gift card will accrue points in the normal way.
5.9 Purchasing a Weird Fish gift card will not earn points.
5.10 When converting points to money off vouchers on the website, or in the checkout process online or in-store, the following conversion rate applies:
- 10,000 points = £5 off your purchase
- 100 points = £0.05 off your purchase (however the minimum points redemption threshold of 10,000 points applies)
6. Pending and active purchase points
6.1 Points earned from purchases are initially shown as pending points.
6.2 Purchase points remain pending for 45 days from the relevant purchase transaction. Pending points cannot be spent.
6.3 Subject to the purchase not being cancelled, returned or refunded, pending points will become active points after the 45-day period has elapsed.
6.4 The date shown in your Shoal Rewards points statement will be used to determine when pending points become active.
6.5 System maintenance, transaction matching, fraud checks or information supplied by a participating store may occasionally delay points appearing or changing status. We will correct verified errors within a reasonable period after they are reported.
7. Returns, cancellations and refunds
7.1 If a product is cancelled, returned or refunded, the points awarded for that product will be removed or reversed as applicable.
7.2 Pending points relating to returned products will not become active.
7.3 If points relating to a purchase have already become active, the corresponding points may be removed when the return or refund is processed. Any adjustment will be shown in your points statement where that facility is available.
7.4 If Shoal Rewards points or a reward were used towards the original purchase, any restoration of points or allocation of the refund between points and the original payment method will follow the applicable returns process and the way the original transaction was funded. The restored points would keep the original expiry date.
7.5 If an order is returned and refunded in full any coupons/points used as part of that transaction will be refunded and any points earned from that purchase will be deducted from the pending points balance.
7.6 If a order is partially returned and so only a proportion of the order value is refunded any points used as part payment in that transaction will be refunded proportionally to the value of the product returned and the amount of points earned for purchasing the returned product will be deducted from the member’s pending points balance.
7.7 The programme will not affect your statutory rights or your right to an appropriate refund or other remedy for faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods. Consumer terms cannot remove or hinder statutory rights or remedies.
8. Other ways to earn points
8.1 Points may also be available through:
- challenges;
- Refer a Friend;
- member-exclusive competitions or prize draws;
- promotional or bonus-point offers; and
- other activities clearly identified as part of Shoal Rewards.
8.2 Each activity may have additional terms explaining eligibility, qualifying actions, dates, availability and when points will be awarded.
8.3 Promotional points may be pending, active immediately or subject to another validation period, as stated in the applicable promotional terms.
8.4 Where an activity has not been completed in accordance with its terms, points may be withheld or reversed.
9. Challenges
9.1 Shoal Rewards challenges may reward members for completing specified activities, such as purchasing within a stated time period, completing qualifying events or buying specified products.
9.2 The challenge page will state the qualifying activity, reward, relevant dates and any limits.
9.3 Progress may take time to update. Completing activity after the challenge has ended will not qualify unless the challenge terms say otherwise.
9.4 Challenges may be limited, withdrawn or corrected where there is a technical error, legal requirement, fraud risk or circumstance outside our reasonable control. We will not withdraw or materially change a live challenge merely because participation is higher than expected.
10. Refer a Friend
10.1 Eligible members may access a personal referral link through Shoal Rewards.
10.2 You may share that link with friends who you reasonably believe may be interested in Weird Fish. You must not:
- refer yourself;
- create or use duplicate or false accounts;
- submit the same person repeatedly;
- publish the link through automated, misleading or unsolicited messages; or
- buy, sell or exchange referrals.
10.3 A qualifying friend must be a genuine new Weird Fish customer, use your referral link and complete their first qualifying purchase.
10.4 You will receive 10,000 points after the friend’s qualifying first purchase has completed and the 45 day returns period has passed. Please note that some exceptions may apply during busy trading periods where the return period may be extended. You can read more about this at https://www.weirdfish.co.uk/help/returns-120.
10.5 If the qualifying purchase is cancelled, fully returned, refunded or found to be ineligible, the referral points will not be activated or may be reversed.
10.6 There is no fixed limit on the number of genuine friends you may refer while Refer a Friend remains available. Each referral must independently satisfy these Terms and any referral-specific terms.
10.7 Referral points are awarded to the referring member only. The referred friend will receive any separate friend offer only if one is stated with the referral link.
11. Competitions and prize promotions
11.1 Shoal Rewards may offer members only access to exclusive competitions.
11.2 Each prize promotion will have separate terms available before or at entry. These will explain, as applicable:
- who may enter;
- how and when to enter;
- opening and closing dates;
- entry limits;
- whether a purchase is required;
- the number and nature of prizes;
- how winners are selected, contacted and announced;
- any judging criteria;
- prize-delivery arrangements; and
- any restrictions or exclusions.
11.3 Unless the specific terms say otherwise, only one entry per member is permitted for each competition.
11.4 Marketing consent and any third-party partner consent will be requested separately from competition entry and programme membership. Declining marketing consent will not invalidate an otherwise eligible entry.
11.5 Automated entries, bulk entries, false identities or entries generated through competition-entry services may be rejected.
11.6 We will administer promotions fairly and will only amend live prize-promotion terms in exceptional circumstances where necessary and lawful.
12. Promotions and bonus-point offers
12.1 We may run limited-time promotions offering additional points, enhanced earning rates, vouchers or other benefits.
12.2 The relevant promotional material will state the important conditions, including eligibility, qualifying purchases or actions, start and end dates, limits and availability.
12.3 Unless expressly stated, promotional offers cannot be combined with other promotions or applied retrospectively.
12.4 If promotional points have been awarded incorrectly because of an obvious error, duplicate transaction, returned purchase or misuse, we may correct or reverse them.
13. Points expiry
13.1 Unused points expire 24 months after the date on which they were earned, which is the purchase date.
13.2 Each award of points has its own expiry date. Earning or spending other points does not extend that date unless we expressly say otherwise.
13.3 Expired points will be removed automatically and cannot be used or reinstated, except where we determine that they expired because of an error for which we were responsible.
13.4 We may show expiry information in your Shoal Rewards account and may send reminders by email or through the app. These reminders are a courtesy. We cannot guarantee that you will receive them, including where contact details are out of date, notifications are disabled or messages are filtered or undelivered.
13.5 You remain responsible for checking your balance and expiry dates.
14. Redeeming points
14.1 Only active points may be redeemed.
14.2 You need at least 10,000 active points to redeem a Shoal Rewards benefit, which is based on a minimum purchase of £100, however there are other ways to earn Shoal Rewards points.
14.3 Above that threshold, eligible members may redeem points directly at checkout in increments of 10,000 points, where that feature is available. Points may be converted into available:
- money-off vouchers;
- free-delivery vouchers;
- charity donations; or
- other rewards displayed in the Shoal Rewards Hub.
14.4 Points can be directly redeemed at checkout in increments of 10,000 up to a maximum of 40,000 points, which equates to £20.00 off your purchase. This applies both online and in store.
14.5 The number of points required and the value or benefit received will be shown before you confirm redemption.
14.6 Once confirmed, the relevant points will be deducted. Redemptions cannot normally be reversed merely because you change your mind, but we will correct a failed, duplicated or erroneous redemption.
14.7 Points are not cash, have no cash value outside Shoal Rewards and cannot be exchanged for cash.
15. Vouchers and rewards
15.1 Vouchers are subject to the eligibility, value, channel, expiry date and other conditions displayed when they are issued.
15.2 Money-off vouchers may be used on qualifying purchases online or in participating stores where the voucher states that channel is supported.
15.3 Free-delivery vouchers are online-only and apply only to the delivery service stated on the voucher.
15.4 A voucher cannot be used after its displayed expiry date, after it has been redeemed or where the qualifying conditions are not met. Vouchers will expire 12 months after they have been redeemed if they are unused.
15.5 Voucher use alongside promotional codes or other rewards is subject to the conditions displayed at checkout.
15.6 Vouchers cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively.
16. Charity donations
16.1 Where available, you may use active points to make a donation to the charity currently supported by Weird Fish, currently the Angling Trust.
16.2 The charity, points required and donation value or basis will be shown before you confirm. Charity donation is currently only available through the weirdfish.co.uk website or the Weird Fish: Shoal Rewards app.
16.3 A charity redemption is not a shopping voucher and cannot be used against a purchase.
16.4 Once confirmed and successfully processed, a charity redemption cannot normally be cancelled or converted back into points, except to correct an error or failed transaction.
16.5 Charity options may change or be temporarily unavailable.
16.6 Any points donated to charity through a charity redemption will be converted to funds at the rate shown on the voucher redeemed.
16.7 All charity donations will be accumulated and then paid to the nominated charity once a month.
17. Account statements and corrections
17.1 Your account may show active points, pending points, vouchers, redemptions, refunds and expiry dates.
17.2 If you believe an entry is wrong, contact us with relevant purchase or activity details within a reasonable period after discovering the issue.
17.3 We may correct points or rewards that were added, deducted or displayed incorrectly. Before making a material adverse correction, we will review the available transaction records and explain the change where reasonably practicable.
17.4 Displayed balances may occasionally be delayed. Our verified programme transaction records will determine the correct balance, but you may challenge a correction through our complaints process.
18. Misuse, suspension and closure
18.1 You must use Shoal Rewards honestly and in accordance with these Terms and any promotion-specific terms.
18.2 We may temporarily suspend an account while we reasonably investigate suspected fraud, unauthorised access, manipulation, duplicate accounts, resale of rewards or other serious misuse.
18.3 Where lawful and appropriate, we will tell you why action has been taken and give you a reasonable opportunity to provide relevant information.
18.4 We may remove points or rewards obtained through fraud, error or ineligible activity. We will not remove legitimately earned points merely because unrelated misuse is alleged.
18.5 We may close an account for proven serious or repeated misuse. Any action will be proportionate to the issue. Immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect members, the programme or our systems.
18.6 Once an account is closed all active and pending points will no longer be available.
19. Ending your membership
19.1 You may ask us to end your membership through your account or by contacting Customer Services.
19.2 Ending Shoal Rewards membership does not necessarily delete your wider Weird Fish customer account or personal information that we must or are permitted to retain.
19.3 Once closure is completed, unused points and rewards will no longer be available. We will explain any available opportunity to use active points or rewards before voluntary closure where operationally possible.
20. Changes to Shoal Rewards
20.1 We may change points values, earning rates, rewards, qualifying purchases, participating stores, redemption options or these Terms for genuine business, operational, technical, security, legal or regulatory reasons.
20.2 We will give reasonable advance notice of a material change likely to disadvantage members, normally through the website, app, account message or email.
20.3 Where practicable, members will have a reasonable opportunity to use existing active points or issued rewards before a materially adverse change takes effect.
20.4 We may make an immediate change where required by law, to address fraud or security risks, to correct an obvious error or where advance notice is not reasonably possible. We will explain the change as soon as reasonably practicable.
21. Programme closure
21.1 We may close Shoal Rewards where there is a genuine commercial, operational, legal or technical reason.
21.2 We will provide a 30-days advance notice where practicable and explain:
- the closure date;
- the final date for earning points;
- the final date for using active points and vouchers; and
- what will happen to pending points and existing rewards.
21.3 We will aim to provide a reasonable opportunity to use valid active points and rewards before closure. Different arrangements may be necessary where immediate closure is required by law, security concerns, insolvency or circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control.
22. Privacy and marketing
22.1 We process personal information to operate Shoal Rewards, manage accounts, record purchases and rewards, prevent fraud and provide programme service messages. Further information is provided in our Privacy Notice.
22.2 Programme administration is separate from direct marketing. Joining Shoal Rewards does not automatically consent you to marketing.
22.3 Where required, we will ask separately for consent to email, app, push-notification or partner marketing. You may withdraw marketing consent without ending your Shoal Rewards membership.
22.4 Some messages about account security, points, rewards, expiry, transactions or material programme changes may be service messages rather than marketing.
23. Liability and consumer rights
23.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
23.2 We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
23.3 We are not responsible for business losses because Shoal Rewards is provided only for personal consumer use.
23.4 We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control, provided that we take reasonable steps to reduce the effect on members.
23.5 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
24. General terms
24.1 If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
24.2 If we delay enforcing these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce them later.
24.3 No person other than you and Weird Fish has a right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
24.4 These Terms are governed by English law. If you live in another part of the UK, you retain any mandatory protections available under the law of that part of the UK and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
