A Successful Spring May 2015

Weird Fish clothing reports a successful spring season in the south

Clothing brand Weird Fish has seen its best spring season to date, announcing that its like-for-like retail sales in April 2015, were 16 per cent ahead of April 2014 nationally.

In the south, sales for the Weird Fish SS15 collection in Beales of Bournemouth and Poole have been brisk, while the retail store in Weymouth has had a bumper season so far, with sales up 21 per cent on last year. Weird Fish also opened a womenswear concession in Goulds of Dorchester in March and has experienced double the sales that were expected.

The company exhibited at the inaugural Poole Harbour Boat Show in early May and received a great response from Dorset residents and holidaymakers alike. The company will also exhibit at the Dorset Seafood Festival in July; an event it has supported for the past five years.

Commenting on the figures, John Stockton, managing director of Weird Fish, said: “Our new products this season, in both menswear and womenswear, have been enormously successful and delivered in time for the great early spring weather. It is clear that new and existing customers alike are appreciating our distinctive and relaxed designs. “

He added: “Our product is very much geared to the holiday retail market, so in addition to the new concession in Goulds of Dorchester, we’ve also just opened our 12th retail store in York; another key holiday retail area. This, combined with our new website, which launched in November, reflects the continued growth and success of the Weird Fish brand.”

Weird Fish boasts 12 branded stores and more than 400 stockists, including Debenhams, Cotswold Outdoor and Blacks Leisure. For more information, visit www.weirdfish.co.uk or call 01242 539535.
