The days of waking up to darkness and finishing work while the sunsets are slowly passing us by as the winter solstice has passed and we head into days of lighter and longer days. The brighter days lift our spirits as we say goodbye to the chilly winter nights and more towards the warmer months. The lighter and longer days allow us to do more with our time as we aren’t so limited by the night, get into a better routine and look forward to what the new year has to offer.

Although the days are getting brighter, the weather is still a little chilly. Enjoy rocking half your wardrobe in your favourite winter coat, mittens, bobble hat and scarf.

If you are anything like us, you sat down on New Year’s Eve and started making a list of resolutions you will try your utmost to stick to, at least for the first few weeks of the New Year! The most popular resolutions are those around being healthier including exercising more and eating healthier. A good trick for New Year’s resolutions that athlete Chari Hawkins swears by is creating monthly resolutions, so you’re not overwhelmed and build more sustainable habits – genius, right!

Say goodbye to the winter blues, Spring is just around the corner. Spring is one of our favourite times of the year. As nature is restored after the bitter challenges winter throws at wildlife and us – no one can forget the chaos of having to defrost the car on the school run! The brighter, lighter days as we head towards Spring have got us all excited!

MORE TIME TO SPEND OUTDOORS

With slightly warmer weather and more daylight, it is the perfect time to get outdoors and go exploring! Whether that is incorporating a run into your exercise routine, being able to walk along local coastlines or enjoying more time outdoors with the family by visiting new locations, the new year is the perfect time to get outside. Another benefit of being outdoors is that it is excellent for our physical and mental health.
