Cheltenham Factory Sale and Caoppafeel Fund Raising June 2015

Press release

Weird Fish to hold factory sale at the Cheltenham Racecourse to help raise funds for CoppaFeel

Cheltenham-based clothing company Weird Fish is holding a factory sale at the Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5, to help a member of staff raise money for the CoppaFeel Charity.

Natasha Airey, menswear product developer at Weird Fish, will be taking part in the Great Wall of China Challenge in October in aid of the charity, which aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by raising awareness of the symptoms.

Heading to China along with George, Jaymi and JJ - members of pop group Union J, Natasha will take on the challenge of a lifetime, trekking under tough conditions; steep and slippery surfaces, twisting and winding paths and crumbling watchtowers.

Natasha has pledged to raise eighty per cent of her £3,300 target by the end of July, and hopes that tying in with the Weird Fish factory sale will help her reach her goal in time. Weird Fish staff will be collecting donations on the day of the factory sale dressed as Coppafeel breasts.

Natasha said: “I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 19. Unfortunately the cancer was detected too late and had spread too far to be treated successfully. What pains me is to think that if my mum had detected the cancer earlier she may still be with us now, so I have great affection towards promoting the early detection of breast cancer.”

She added: “I am honoured and excited to be taking part in the Great Wall of China Challenge to help raise awareness of the CoppaFeel Charity and to also help fundraise for it.”

Naomi Hill, PR co-ordinator at Weird Fish, said: “Our factory sales are always so well attended, so we thought it would be a good place to get the message out about Natasha’s amazing expedition, and hopefully help to raise some money towards her target.

“With savings of up to eighty per cent on everything from socks and bags to dresses and coats, we are expecting a good turnout at the sale.”
